At 0015 hours Claymont Fire Company was dispatched to a reported MVC with injuries. While still enroute to the incident, based on information from fire police on scene that there were multiple injuries, Rescue 13 officer (AC Haley) requested Rescue 11 and BLS unit A11 to assist. Upon arrival Rescue 13 Officer established the “Claymont Command” and after a quick assessment requested 2 ALS units and 3 Additional BLS units. Crews went to work providing patient care and treatment while removing victims from the cars. The incident was spread over a quarter mile involving 4 cars and 5 patients. A third ALS unit and 2 more BLS units were requested. Once a complete scene size up was completed all patients were transported with ALS onboard. 1 BLS was recalled and another was used for manpower and to cover Northern New Castle County from the scene.
